Mount St. Mary's Drops Physical Matchup at Drexel, 75-67

Philadelphia, Pa. (December 19, 2025)—Mount St. Mary's dropped a physical matchup at Drexel, 75-67, on Friday night.  Xavier Lipscomb led three Mountaineers in double figures with 16 points.  It was the first meeting between the two schools since 1988.

Leading 38-33 at the half, Drexel opened the second half with a 15-to-2 run to build a 53-35 advantage.  Mount St. Mary's cut into the deficit with a 6-0 run capped by an Anthony Arrington jumper. An Arlandus Keyes and Mason So connected on back-to-back three-pointers to pull the Mount within six at 64-58 with 3:05 on the clock.  The Dragons (5-7) pushed the margin back to double figures at 71-61, but Lipscomb scored the next six points to make it a four-point game, 71-67, with 22 seconds on the clock.  Eli Beard countered with a pair of free throws for Drexel and a steal and lay-up by Shane Blakeney closed out the scoring.

Lipscomb led the Mount with 16 points, six rebounds and three assists, hitting 4-of-5 from the field and 7-of-7 at the foul line.  Trey Deveaux chipped in 14 points with Keyes adding 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting from three-point range in the game.  Arrington added eight points and Abdou Khadre Kebe seven off the bench for the Mount as well.  Victor Panov led five Drexel players in double figures with 16 points while Blakeney added 14 points, six assists and six steals in the win.

The Mount jumped out to an early 7-2 lead on three-pointers from Keyes and Deveaux, but the Dragons answered with the next 10 points to take a 12-7 advantage.  Khadre Kebe countered with the next five points for the Mountaineers with his three-pointer making it a tie game.

Keyes hit a triple to put the Mount on top, 17-16, and Amadi followed with a pair of free throws for a three-point lead.  The Dragons again answered with 10 consecutive points, building a 26-19 lead.  Drexel held a 38-30 lead before Deveaux nailed a three-pointer with one second left in the half to make it 38-33 at the break. 

Drexel held the statistical advantage in the first half, shooting 52.0 percent from the field while hitting 6-of-11 (.545) from beyond the arc.  The Mount shot 40.0 percent and was 6-of-14 (.429) from three-point range.  Deveaux led the Mount with eight first-half markers.

NOTES
  • This was the first meeting between the Mount and Drexel since December 29, 1988, an 86-76 Drexel win in the championship game of the MSM Holiday Tournament. The Mount's win in the series came 113 years ago, a 31-12 decision in Emmitsburg on Feb. 24, 1912.  Drexel now holds a 2-1 lead in the all-time series.
  • Mount St. Mary's committed 23 turnovers in the game compared to 18 by the Dragons.  Drexel held a 31-27 advantage in points off turnovers.  
  • The Mount held a 29-to-23 edge on the boards.
