Mount St. Mary's Rolls Past Penn State Brandywine, 73-42

Emmitsburg, Md. (December 21, 2025)--Mount St. Mary's used a strong defensive effort to close out the non-conference schedule with a 73-42 victory over Penn State Brandywine on Sunday afternoon at Knott Arena.  The Mount forced 28 turnovers while holding the Lions to 28 percent shooting in the victory.  Abdou Khadre Kebe and Justin Amadi each scored 12 points to pace the offense.

Kebe matched his career high with his 12-point effort while adding four assists, three blocks, three rebounds and a pair of steals for the Mount.  Amadi hit 6-of-7 from the field in 23 minutes of action for his 12 points while Trey Deveaux chipped in a double-double with 11 points and 11 rebounds.  Anastasios Rozakeas was fourth Mountaineer in double figures with 11 points, hitting 3-of-5 from three-point range while adding three steals in the win.  Anthony Arrington and Patrick Haigh (3-of-5 three-pointers) each scored nine for the Mount.  Penn State Brandywine had five players score six points each in the loss.

Leading 39-26 at the half, the Mount held Penn State Brandwine to two points over the first 10 and a half minutes of the second half to build a commanding 53-28 lead.  The Mountaineers (4-9) held their biggest lead of the game, 62-30, with just under seven minutes remaining.  The Mount was able to cruise the rest of the way to earn the win.

Mount St. Mary's shot 47.6 percent from the field while connecting on 10-of-34 (.294) from three-point range.  The Mount scored 40 points off of the 28 Penn State Brandywine turnovers while holding a 38-to-33 edge on the boards.  The Mount held the Lions to 28.0 percent (14-of-50) shooting in the game, but Penn State Brandywine did connect on 10-of-25 (.400) from beyond the three-point arc.

NOTES
  • This was the first-ever meeting between the Mount and Penn State Brandywine.
  • The Mount is now 12-0 all-time against non-Division I opponents since moving to NCAA Division I in 1988-89.  The average margin of victory in those games is 27.6 points.
  • The Mountaineers played without starters Luke McEldon and Xavier Lipscomb, who are each day-to-day with injuries.
  • Mount St. Mary's finished the non-conference schedule with a 4-7 record.
  • The Mount had its eighth different starting lineup in 13 games this season.  Mason So is the lone Mountaineer to start all 13 games.
