BALTIMORE, Md. (November 20, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's women's basketball captured the Catholic Clash over Loyola, 69-50, at Reitz Arena Thursday night.
Gabrielle Kennerly led the charge with 21 points on the night, followed by 13 from
Giana Hoddinott. The team pulled in 33 rebounds, including 15 of the offensive glass.
Wesleigh Ferguson had her finest game as a collegiate player, collecting nine rebounds and seven points.
Mount St. Mary's is now 2-3 for the season, and Loyola falls to 0-6.
HOW THE GAME UNFOLDED
- Kennerly led the charge in the first quarter with 10 points, followed by Hoddinott's six.
- A Hoddinott layup at the 8-6 point gave the Mount the edge and triggered an 11-2 run. The team led 23-10 after the opening frame.
- Jaedyn Jamison connected on a second quarter jumper to give the Mountaineers a 20-point lead at the 33-13 mark.
- The halftime score read 39-21 Mount St. Mary's at the break.
- Loyola was held without a field goal in the third quarter but earned 14 trips to the line with 11 makes. The Mount still won the quarter, 13-11. Mikaela Parris had four points in the frame to lead her side.
- Loyola cut the lead to nine points before Parris hit a clutch triple to stem the tide. Critical free throws down the stretch sealed the win.
NOTEWORTHY ITEMS
- The 23 first quarter points were the highest so far this season.
- Loyola committed 24 turnovers, which matches a season-high forced by the Mountaineers with the Pitt game November 8.
- Mount's defense held opposing shooting to under 30 percent for the third straight contest. Loyola shot 28.6 percent for the night.
- Mount St. Mary's improves to 29-17 all-time over Loyola, and 13-13 in Division I. The win also marks two in a row for the Mountaineers over the Greyhounds.
