Mount Athletics Sees Seven Programs Achieve Perfect GSR Rating; Overall Score of 93

EMMITSBURG, Md. (November 20, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's student-athletes excelled in the classroom across the board, earning an overall graduation success rate (GSR) of 93. In addition, seven programs achieved a perfect GSR of 100.

The seven programs with a perfect ranking were men's golf, men's water polo, women's basketball, women's golf, women's lacrosse, women's swimming and diving, and women's tennis.

For programs affiliated with the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, the league ranked tied for third among NCAA Division I conferences, trailing only the Ivy League and Atlantic 10, and matching the Atlantic Coast Conference. Men's basketball ranks fourth among Division I conference, and women's basketball ranks fifth.

GENERAL POINTS ON THE GSR
  • The GSR is different from the FGR (Federal Graduation Rate). Calculation of the GSR begins with the group the federal methodology identifies, but then it takes steps to track thousands of student-athletes the federal methodology omits. This includes transfers from two-year or four-year colleges who receive athletics aid on entry and freshmen on aid who first enroll at midyear.
  • The GSR does not count student-athletes that leave academically eligible as "did not graduate," where the FGR does
  • The GSR takes transfers that come into an institution and receive aid in their first year into consideration, whereas the FGR does not
  • The latest group of athletes that we reported on was from the 2018-2019 academic year, as the GSR allows for six years to graduate
  • The GSR scores are based on a four-year cohort, so the cohort of academic years 2015-2016 to 2018-2019 was analyzed in the latest results
