EMMITSBURG, MD (October 9, 2026) – Student-athlete representatives from across the Metro Conference gathered on the Mount St. Mary's campus last weekend for the 2026 Annual Metro Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) meetings from October 2-4.
Over the two-day seminar, the students engaged in and received a variety of presentations. Metro Commissioner Travis Tellitocci came to campus and made a presentation, and the group took part in current affairs discussions, lectures, and team building exercises.
"The annual Metro SAAC meetings provide a valuable opportunity for our student-athletes to connect with peers across the Conference, share ideas, and develop leadership skills that will benefit them during and beyond their athletic careers." AJ Schaufler, Senior Associate Commissioner for Regulatory Affairs & Leadership Development, said. "From professional development, resume writing, and financial literacy to navigating difficult conversations and discussing Conference and NCAA governance, our representatives from all 13 member institutions were engaged throughout the weekend, and I am grateful to Mount St. Mary's for hosting and providing such a great experience for our student-athletes."

While on the Mount's campus, the SAAC representatives also gave to the community with a Saturday morning cleanup at the National Shrine Grotto of ?Our Lady of Lourdes. When work was complete, the team wrapped up with a trip to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania for dinner and a ghost tour.
