MOUNT STORY LINES
  • A late second-half run proved to be the difference as the Mount fell at Cincinnati, 72-55, on Sunday night.  The Mount led 48-42 with just over 14 minutes remaining, but Cincinnati went on a 19-to-3 run to take control en route to the win.  Xavier Lipscomb led the Mount with 14 points, eight rebounds and four assists while Trey Deveaux added 11 points.  The Mount held a 36-30 lead at the half.
  • This will be the 13th all-time meeting between the Mount and Maryland with the Terrapins having won the previous 12 matchups.  This is third consecutive season the two teams have met, with the Terrapins posting an 86-52 win last year over the Mountaineers.  The closest game was on Dec. 7, 2011, when the Terrapins edged the Mount, 77-74.
  • Mount St. Mary's is 0-24 all-time against the Big Ten Conference, including an 86-52 loss at Maryland last season.  The Mount also plays at Ohio State on November 25. This will be the sixth time the Mount has played Maryland since the Terrapins joined the Big Ten Conference.  The Mount lost to Maryland on Nov. 13, 2015 (80-56), Nov. 18, 2018 (92-77, Nov. 29, 2020 (79-61) , Nov. 7, 2023 (68-53) and Nov. 8, 2024 (86-52).
  • The Mount's starting backcourt of Mason So and Xavier Lipscomb have provided solid all-around numbers this season.  Lipscomb is averaging 10.8 points, 6.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game while So is averaging 5.8 point, 5.8 rebounds and 4.3 assists.  Lipscomb is third on the team in scoring while leading the team in rebounds, assists and steals.
  • This is the third game of the Mount's five-game road swing.  The Mount opened with a win at Saint Francis before losing at Cincinnati.
  • Mount St. Mary's is holding opponents to 39.6 percent shooting overall and 27.1 percent from three-point range.  Over the past two games, the Mount's opponents (Saint Francis and Cincinnati) shot just 13-of-56 (.232) from beyond the arc.  The Mount has held the opponents to under 44 percent shooting in each of the team's four games this season.
  • Mount St. Mary's has recorded an assist on 64.0 percent of its baskets this year, the 40th-best mark in the nation.  The Mount had a season-high 21 assists in the win against Saint Francis.
  • Up next, the Mount rounds out its five-game road swing at Western Michigan (Nov. 23) and Ohio State (Nov. 25).  The Mount's next home game is Saturday, November 29, when Howard visits Knott Arena for a 4:00 p.m. tip-off.
