EMMITSBURG, Md. (November 15, 2025) – In front of the largest regular season crowd for a Mount St. Mary's women's basketball game in 12 years, 11 different Mountaineers scored and 13 earned a rebound on the way to a 69-47 win over Morgan State.
Gabrielle Kennerly led the scoring with 12 points and
Amber Bullard led in rebounding with eight.
Mikaela Parris and
Deniz Torgut registered nine each in the points column, and
Kayla Lindsey added seven rebounds. For assists, eight different players finished with a dime.
Nyodie Guerard, Parris, and Lindsey tallied three each.
Morgan State received 14 points from Mihjae Hayes and 11 rebounds from Success Prysock.
Both teams are now 1-3 this season.
HOW THE GAME UNFOLDED
- The combination of Kennerly and Parris sparked a 9-0 run to open the game, extending it to 13-3 before a Morgan State timeout.
- Earning 10 trips to the charity stripe and making nine of them, the Mountaineers increased the advantage to 18-8 after one quarter.
- Deniz Torgut collected a pair of three-pointers which was the difference in the second frame. The Mount doubled their score to 36 and lead by 16 at the half.
- A triple by Jaedyn Jamison at the 1:11 mark of the third quarter pushed the lead to 20 points.
- With the game well in had, both teams played even in the fourth quarter, scoring 17 apiece.
NOTEWORTHY ITEMS
- 1,521 fans came to Knott Arena to witness the contest, marking the largest regular season attendance for Mount women's basketball since December 7, 2013 against Loyola (1,587 fans). Other instances with higher crowd totals include the 2022 Northeast Conference tournament run.
- Under Coach Antoine White, the Mountaineers are 3-2 in home openers. The team defeated Valley Forge in 2021 and Navy in 2022.
- Mount St. Mary's finished with 52 rebounds – the most since the win over Valley Forge in November 2021. Against Division I opponents, the last such occurrence of 52 or more boards was 53 on March 2, 2015, against Saint Francis University.
