Men’s Swim Edges Howard by One Point for Dual-Meet Win on Senior Day

EMMITSBURG, Md. (November 14, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's men's and women's swim and dive battled out to a close fought dual meet Friday afternoon, with the women losing 176-102 and the men winning their side of the meet 139.5-138.5 during the final race. The win for the men signaled their first victory against the Bison since 2018.
 
In the women's one-meter diving competition, Julie Uecker placed first with a final score of 167.40 followed by a debut effort from Madison Garcia who tallied a final score of 85.30. Carmen Del Aguila placed first in the women's 400-Meter Freestyle with a time of 4:36.10. Del Aguila also broke the team meters record in the women's 200-Meter Freestyle with a time of 2:08.34, breaking Catriona Coppler's record set in 2012. Hanna Aggen placed third in the women's 50-Meter Backstroke with a time of 30.88. And Christina Lazari recorded a first place finish in the women's 100-Meter Breaststroke with a time of 1:14.30. The women's 200-Meter Freestyle Relay team of Lazari, Eve Phillips, Madison Murphy, and Theodora Kanellopolou placed third in the event with a final time of 1:49.97. The 200-Meter Medley Relay team of Aggen, Lazari, Phillips, and Murphy came second in the even with a time of 1:58.87.
 
In the men's 50-Meter Freestyle event, Lucas Hancock logged a time of 23.60, breaking the previous pool record for the event set by Rider's Billy Ruddy on January 16 of this past year. The men's 200-Meter Medley Relay team of Todor Gospodinov, Adam Jozsa, Parker Koenig, and Autin Toland won the event with a time of 1:44.08. Gospodinov went on to win the men's 50-Meter Backstroke with a time of 27.07, with Jozsa following his relay partner up with a 29.21 first place finish in the men's 50-Meter Breaststroke. Gospodinov also broke John Wilson's 2019 men's 200 Individual Medley Relay record with a time of 2:10.78, winning the event. In the final event of the day, the relay team of Toland, Koenig, Antonio Gurri, and Lucas Hancock placed first in the men's 200-Meter Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:34.25, with the team of Drew Beabout, Brendan Moran, John Haskins, and Isaac Hancock placing third as the youngest of the Hancock brothers touching the wall less than a millisecond before the pursuing Bison relay team, securing the win for the men at the death against Howard.
