LEWISBURG, Pa. (November 12, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's women's basketball battled the Bucknell Bison in a gritty defensive effort. The Bison pulled out the win by fending off a Mount comeback, taking the game 49-45.
Amber Bullard posted her first Division I double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds. The point total serves as a career high.
Teodora Ivanovic added six points and six boards.
Mount outrebounded the Bison 36-32, marking a rare defeat when outhustling the competition on the boards. They are 31-6 under
Antoine White when winning the rebound battle.4
HOW THE GAME UNFOLDED
- Mount made defensive stops on eight of nine Bucknell trips down the floor, enabling a 6-0 run into the first media. Bullard made it 8-0 run with a second chance layup.
- Bucknell scored four of the last six field goals in the opening quarter to lead 12-10 after one.
- Giana Hoddinott gave the Mount the lead back at the waning moments of the first half with five consecutive points, but the Bison rallied for five of their own the edge, 25-22 at the break.
- Both sides matched their second quarter output in the third, with the Bison scoring 13 to the Mount's 12.
- Gabrielle Kennerly hit a layup to cut it to 38-36 early in the fourth.
- Bullard went to work in the fourth, playing a pivotal role down the stretch. She scored seven in a row to make it 46-45 Bucknell inside of a minute.
- Free throws in the closing seconds sealed the contest for the Bison.
NOTEWORTHY ITEMS
- Wesleigh Ferguson made her start in her collegiate career. She ended the game with four points and a rebound over 16 minutes of play.
- The Mount tied Bucknell in steals 8-8, but gave up 14 assists to their 10 and committed 22 turnovers against the Bison's 19.
- Berlynn Carlson was a scratch for a short-term illness. The freshman was the team's leading scorer at Richmond in the season opener.
- Mount St. Mary's falls to 7-5 all-time against Bucknell.
