Patrick Haigh's Career High Leads Mount St. Mary's to 74-66 Road Win at Saint Francis U

Loretto, Pa. (November 11, 2025)—Patrick Haigh scored a career high 15 points to lead Mount St. Mary's past Saint Francis U, 74-66, on Tuesday night at DeGol Arena.  Haigh led four Mountaineers in double figures in the Mount's first win of the 2025-26 campaign.

Haigh, who played at Bishop Guilfoyle High School in nearby Altoona, hit 5-of-8 from downtown for all 15 of his points.  Trey Deveaux added 14 points and six rebounds, Justin Amadi 12 points and seven boards, and Arlandus Keyes 11 points and four assists in the win.  Keyes was making his season debut after missing the first two games of the year due to injury.  Mason So also had a strong game with nine points and five assists.  Zion Russell led SFU with a game-high 23 points with Skylar Wicks finishing with 15 points and a game-high 13 rebounds.

Mount St. Mary's (1-2) led the entire second half, but the Red Flash (0-3) kept the deficit in single digits most of the way.  A Luke McEldon basket put the Mount on top, 47-37, early in the second half.  Saint Francis was able to cut the deficit to four on three occasions, the last coming with 8:05 left in the game when Brandon Russell hit a pair of free throws to make it 59-55.

The Mount answered, taking a 64-56 lead on Haigh's fifth three-pointer of the night with 5:26 left.  A Keyes step-back triple put the Mount lead in double figures at 67-57, and another Keyes three made it 73-62 with 2:00 on the clock to essentially seal the win.

Mount St. Mary's shot 51.9 percent from the field in the game while connecting on 13-of-30 (.433) from three-point range.  The Mount held Saint Francis to 23-of-65 (.354) from the field, including 11-of-36 (.306) in the second half.  The Red Flash held a 39-to-33 edge on the boards, while forcing the Mount into 13 second-half turnovers.

After a slow start that saw Saint Francis take a 13-5 lead in the opening five minutes, Haigh sparked the Mount with three triples during a 19-to-3 run to put the Mount on top, 24-16.  The Mount was able to maintain the lead from there, taking its first double-digit advantage at 43-32 on a Mason So three.  The Red Flash got a tough basket from Gestin Liberis to make it 43-34 at the break.

Mount St. Mary's shot 50.0 percent (16-of-32) from the field in the opening half, including 9-of-22 (.409) from beyond the arc.  Saint Francis shot 41.4 percent while going 5-of-15 (.333) from three in the half.

Haigh scored a team-high 12 points in the first half, hitting 4-of-7 from three-point range, eclipsing his previous career-best of eight points set in the MAAC semifinals against Merrimack last season.  Deveaux chipped in 10 points with So adding eight in the opening 20 minutes.  Niagara transfer Zion Russell led all scorers with 16 first-half points.
