EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 23, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's men's and women's swimming and diving head to Baltimore this weekend for the Thomas Murphy Invitational from October 24 to October 26. The Mountaineers head to the Mangione Aquatic Center to swim against a field of teams from Towson, UMBC, and the hosts, Loyola.
MOUNT UPDATE
Against the Virginia Military Institute on October 11, the relay team of
Hanna Aggen,
Emily Myers,
Eve Phillips, and
Madison Murphy got the day started for the team, winning the women's 200-meter medley relay with a time of 2:01.09. Aggen followed up her part in the relay victory with a first placed finish in the women's 100-meter backstroke, posting an excellent time of 1:05.49 in the event. Phillips posted a time of 27.55 in the women's 50-meter freestyle, winning the event for the Mountaineers.
Lauren Wetzel won the women's 200-meter intermediate race with a time of 2:30.02. And Myers placed first, winning the women's 200-meter breaststroke with a time of 2:49.20.
Julie Uecker placed fourth in the women's 1-meter diving event, posting a score of 140.85.
On the men's side of the meet,
Adam Jozsa got the day started for the Mountaineers, winning the men's 100-meter breaststroke with a time of 1:04.49.
Todor Gospodinov got his first individual win as a Mountaineer, winning the men's 200-meter backstroke with a time of 2:09.50. And the team of Gospodinov,
Parker Koenig,
Austin Toland, and
Lucas Hancock placed a close second place in the men's 200-meter freestyle relay, posting a time of 1:34.60, a tenth of a second off the lead.
With the win against the Keydets, the women's team notched their 21
st win in a row against VMI, moving to a perfect 21-0 record.
