EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 10, 2025) – Mount St. Mary's men's water polo travels Route 15 for the second time in the 2025 season, facing off against Mercyhurst and Bucknell in a Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference doubleheader on Saturday. After a difficult tour of California, the team will look to get on the right footing against the Bisons and Lakers as conference play gets under way.
MOUNT UPDATE
The Mountaineers returned from the west coast with difficult losses against ranked opponents in No. 19 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps and No. 13 California Baptist, loosing to the Stags and Lancers by scores of 19-7 and 20-11 respectively. The team played out to close scores of 14-11 and 13-12 against Concordia and California Lutheran but falling in the end to the Golden Eagles and Kingsmen.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
Mercyhurst holds a record of 0-10 so far in 2025 while remaining winless in the MAWPC, garnering a 0-6 record against conference opponents. The Lakers played out to a close 12-11 loss to Penn State Behrend on September 7. Out of conference losses for Mercyhurst include a 16-15 contest against Washington and Jefferson and a 26-14 loss to Gannon.
Bucknell faces off against the Mount at Kinney natatorium with a 6-10 overall record and a 3-4 record in the MAWPC. Wins for the Bison have come against Iona, Salem, Air Force, Wagner, and a double against Mercyhurst in-conference.
