ANNAPOLIS, Md. (August 31, 2024) – Mount St. Mary's men's rugby showed might and spirit against the Navy Midshipmen Saturday, holding a first half lead and maintaining a second half presence before pulling away in the final minutes to take the match 36-8.

th minute,
Shemar Lewis crossed the line to go up 5-3 on the Mids. It took Navy around 15 minutes to take the lead back and held on to an 8-5 halftime score.
That would remain the score until the 60
th minute when Navy scored again.
Bastain Brunello tacked on a field goal several minutes later as the Mountaineers pulled back within seven points. But a series of late scores allowed Navy to cement its lead and achieve victory.
The B and C sides travel to Mary Washington next weekend before the team's home opener September 14 with Penn State.
