Men’s Basketball Announces 2024-25 Recruiting Class

EMMITSBURG, Md. (July 23, 2024­) – Mount St. Mary's men's basketball coach Donny Lind has finalized his 2024-25 roster. The Mount will have seven newcomers added to the roster of eight returning players for the upcoming season. Joining the Mount will be juniors Javon Ervin (Tacoma Wash./Peninsula College) and Arlandus Keyes (Florissant, Mo./Abeka Academy/Ellsworth C.C.), sophomore Carmelo Pacheco (Harrisonburg, Va./Spotswood/UVA Wise), freshman Elijah Espinosa (Etters, Pa./Red Land), Abdou Khadre Kébé (Dakar, Senegal/Seed Academy/NBA Latin America) and Trey Wilson (Miramar, Fla./Miami Country Day), and redshirt freshman Jaxon Hartman (Staunton, Va./Miller School of Albemarle/West Virgina Wesleyan).
 
"I'm excited about these newcomers," said Lind.  "It's a talented group that has the potential to impact winning at the Mount for years to come. Most importantly, they are high character young men who will help push forward the culture we are trying to build. They possess extreme work ethic and a passion to improve and compete day in and day out."
 
Ervin joins the Mountaineers after playing the past two seasons at Peninsula College.  This past season, Ervin started all 30 games while averaging 19.2 points per game.  He connected on 47-of-139 (.338) from three-point range while adding 4.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.2 steals per game.  He registered 13 games with 20 or more points while scoring 30 or more three times.  He had a season-high 32 points on two occasions.  Keyes averaged 12.7 points, 4.1 rebounds and 3.9 assists for Ellsworth Community College last season.  He had seven games with 20 or more points, topped by a 29-point game while shooting 64-for-176 (.364) from beyond the three-point arc.  Keyes averaged 8.6 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.7 assists in his freshman year. Pacheco averaged 12.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists for UVA Wise as a freshman last season.  He shot 47.5 percent from the field and hit 60-of-138 (.435) three-point attempts.  Pacheco scored 20 or more points on five occasions, including a pair of 28-point efforts. He was a two-time District Player of the Year and two-time All-State selection at Spotswood High School.
 
Espinosa, also an incoming freshman from Red Land High School, was named the Defensive Player of the Year and Second Team All-Conference by PennLive. Kébé, an incoming freshman, averaged 15 points per game at the NBA Academy Latin America this past season. Wilson, an incoming freshman, was named the Athlete of the Year at Miami Country Day as a senior.  He was named Second Team All-Dade and set the Miami County Day single-game scoring record.  He had a 33-point triple-double his senior year. Hartman is a transfer from West Virginia Wesleyan College, earning All-District and All-Region honors in his high school career.
 
The 2024-25 men's basketball season begins in November.
