MOUNT UPDATE:  Mount St. Mary's dropped all three games of its midweek MAAC series at Rider to fall to 10-28 overall and 3-14 in the MAAC this season.  Abigayle Perry went 3-for-5 while reaching base six times over the final two games of the series to pace the Mount offense.  Tori Bowles is hitting .292 while leading the team with eight doubles, eight home runs and 30 RBI.  Perry leads the squad with 22 runs scored, a .424 on-base percentage and 18 stolen bases.  In the circle, Sophia Schmehl (3-5, 3.82 ERA), Olivia Murphy (5-7, 4.06 ERA) and Maddie Coleman (2-10, 6.96 ERA) have handled the majority of the innings this year.

ABOUT IONA:  Iona lost to Stoney Brook on Tuesday to fall to 14-24 overall this season.  The Gaels dropped two of three last weekend to Marist and are now 11-7 in MAAC play.  Jamie Sheeran leads the Gaels with a .394 average, 11 doubles, five home runs and 22 RBI this season while Kayla Haywood is hitting .312 with a team-high 21 runs scored.  In the circle, Samantha Rieb (10-9, 3.90 ERA), Maddy Lowry (2-4, 4.36 ERA) and Alyssa DeJianne (2-11, 5.34 ERA) are the top pitchers on the roster this year.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES:  Iona holds a 4-3 lead in the all-time series with the Mount that began in 1992.  Last year, the teams split the regular season twinbill at Iona with the Gaels winning the opener, 3-2, before the Mount rebounded for an 8-4 win in game two.  Iona then earned a 1-0 victory over the Mount in an elimination game at the MAAC Tournament.  Mount St. Mary's is 1-1 all-time on the road against the Gaels.

BOWLES MATCHES SCHOOL RECORD:  Senior catcher Tori Bowles blasted three home runs in the Mount's 13-8 loss to Saint Peter's on Sunday, matching the school record for home runs in a game.  Bowles is the third player in Mount history to hit three home runs in a game, joining Rachel Heinze (3HR vs. UMBC on May 3, 2017) and Liz Christiansen (3HR vs. CCSU on March 28, 2010).

CHECKING THE RECORD BOOKS:  Abigayle Perry is the Mount's all-time leader in walks (100), third in stolen bases (53) and fourth in runs scored (111) while Tori Bowles is fifth all-time in home runs (21) and seventh in RBI (91).  In the circle, Olivia Murphy is third all-time in winning percentage (.564, 22-17) and sixth in career ERA (2.91).  On the single-season lists, Bowles has eight home runs this year, tied for eighth on the Mount's single-season list while Perry has 18 steals, tied for fourth.

UP NEXT:  The Mount hosts Maryland-Eastern Shore for a doubleheader on Wednesday, May 1, before closing out the regular season with a three-game series at home against Niagara (May 4-5).
