Box Score TOWSON, Md. (April 16th, 2024) – The Mountaineers scored runs five of the nine innings yet were stalled by a three-run eighth inning from Towson to drop this evening's contest, 8-5.
Tyler Long and
JT Landwehr accounted for four runs while
Scott Seeker posted three RBIs.
The Mount opened the game with a run in the top of the first inning on a
Scott Seeker sacrifice flied out to center field, scoring Long.
The Tigers answered in the bottom of the frame off a two RBI single to left field to take the lead, 2-1.
The Mountaineers scored in the second and third innings to take the lead, 3-2 headed into the fourth inning.
Shane Wockley started scoring in the second with a sac-fly to center field, scoring
Jayson Kramer. In the third inning, Long scored after Landwehr advanced on a wild pitch while Long stole home.
After keeping Towson relatively quiet, the Tigers responded in the bottom of the fourth inning with three runs on one hit, 5-3.
Seeker added a run in the fifth to cut the deficit to a run via a sac-fly to left field, scoring Long, the combo's second of the day.
After a silent sixth inning, the Mount scored a run in the seventh to knot the game at five. Seeker, for his third RBI of the day, doubled to right center scoring Landwehr.
Towson took command in the bottom of the eighth inning after scoring three runs on an RBI single and a two-run home run to left field, 8-5.
