Box Score 2 EMMITSBURG, Md. (March 8th, 2024) – Mount St. Mary's lost by a run in the first game today after taking an early 2-0 lead. Lehigh scored three in four innings to end the game, 3-2. Game two ended in a tie, knotted at 10 through nine innings.
GAME ONE:
Brendan Yagesh took the hill to open the game, the junior pitched with four scoreless innings until allowing his first in the top of the fifth. Yagesh ended his day in the bottom of the sixth after pitching 5 2/3 innings, allowed three hits, two runs, and fanned five batters.
Jayson Kramer opened the game with an RBI-single, scoring
Tyler Long in the bottom of the first, 1-0.
Efrain Correa, Jr. followed in the second with a solo homer over right center, to extend the Mount's early lead, 2-0.
Lehigh took control, allowing no scores over the next six innings, while scoring three of their own to take the lead and win the game, 3-2.
GAME TWO:
Similar to game one, The Mount took control of the game early, going ahead 2-1 through two innings. Things spiraled quickly in the third and fourth innings as the Mountain Hawks scored 9 runs to the Mount's three, going ahead, 10-5.
The Mount, scoring in every inning but the seventh and ninth, buckled down to avoid allowing a score the rest of the contest. Joint efforts by

Matt Stam, and
JT Landwehr took to the hill to allow for no scores on three hits, while fanning four batters through four innings.
Offensively, the Mountaineers kept great pace throughout the entire game.
Scott Seeker, who had a day at the plate going 4-4 with three RBIs and six appearances on the base path, doubled to right field, pushing Long and
Joey Agar across the plate to cut the deficit to three runs, 10-7.
In the sixth the Mount brought it within one after an
Evan Smith yanked a two-run bag clearer over the left field fence, 10-9.
Running a tight ship defensively, the Mountaineers tied the game in the bottom of the eighth inning, 10-10.
Scott Seeker had a lengthy at bat, working the pitcher and count into his favor, resulting in an RBI walk.
The game was suspended before going into extra-innings due to darkness. The game will end in a tie.
