MOUNT STORY LINES
  • Dakota Leffew poured in a career high 34 points while adding eight rebounds and six assists to lead the Mount to a 76-58 win at Marist on Friday night.  The Mountaineers closed the first half with a 16-to-2 run to take a commanding 41-20 lead at the half.  The Mount led by as much as 32 points in the second half to cruise to the victory.  De'Shayne Montgomery and Dallas Hobbs added nine points each in the win.
  • The Mountaineers defeated Siena, 80-48, at home on December 3rd for their win in seven tries in the all-time series.  The Saints hold a 6-1 lead in the all-time series, including a 3-0 mark at MVP Arena.
  • Dakota Leffew's 34-point effort in the Mount's win over Marist on Friday leaves him just six points shy of becoming the 50th player in Mount history to reach 1,000 career points.
  • Leffew's 34-point night at Marist was the Mount's first 30-point game since Damian Chong Qui had 30 in the Mount's 65-64 loss at Central Connecticut on Jan. 22, 2021.  Leffew has scored in double figures in 20 consecutive games and has 10 games with 20 or more points.
  • Dakota Leffew finished with a stat line of 34 points, eight rebounds, six assists and seven three-point field goals made in the Mount's win over Marist on Friday night.  He is just the ninth player and first since 2022 in NCAA Division I (per Sports Reference) to post those numbers in a game.  The list includes Trae Young and Buddy Hield among others.
  • The Mount's 18-point win over Marist was the sixth time in eight victories the team has won by double figures.  The two games that were not double digits wins were Canisius (74-69) and Saint Francis U (72-65).  The Mount led Canisius by 11 in the first half and Saint Francis U by 20 at the half.  The Mount's average margin of victory in wins is 16.7 points with the Mount averaging 75.6 points in those games.
  • Up next, the Mountaineers return to Emmitsburg for a pair of home games against Manhattan (Feb. 8) and Quinnipiac (Feb. 10)
