EMMITSBURG, Md. (November 8, 2024) – Sophomore guard Dallas Hobbs registered a career-high with 21 points in Friday's contest against Maryland. Although Mount St. Mary's men's basketball enjoyed some early successes, the Terrapins were able to secure the game, 86-52.

Hobbs went 7-for-11 from the field, including a perfect 5-for-5 from long distance and a pair at the charity stripe. The scoring output for the game eclipsed two previous outings in his freshman season, when he registered 20.

Dola Adebayo finished in double figures with 11. Jedy Cordilia has the most rebounds with six, and Xavier Lipscomb racked up seven assists.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Early returns looked promising for the Mount, who opened the game on a 10-2 run with five points from Adebayo. They stopped the Terps on their first five trips down the floor. Hobbs capped off the rally with a three-pointer
  • With the Mountaineers still up several minutes into the contest, Maryland initiated a press that helped them work their way back into the game. The home side took their first lead at 15-14 with 11:37 in the first half
  • A foul shot from Derik Queen at the 17-16 mark put the Terrapins up for good. Maryland closed the opening frame with a 41-10 outburst to build a convincing lead
  • Both sides played even in the second half, with Hobbs leading the way for the Mount. 18 of his 21 points came in the final 20 minutes as he went 6-for-8 from the floor. Lipscomb, Terrell Ard Jr., and Jonathan Ogunfuye accounted for the rest of the points in the half
Mount St. Mary's travels to Bucknell on Wednesday (Nov. 13). Start time is at 7 p.m. from Sokja Pavilion in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
