MOUNT STORY LINES
- Mount St. Mary's opens the 2024-25 season at home for the first time in 26 years when Notre Dame of Maryland visits Knott Arena on Monday night. Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
- The 2024-25 season marks a new era in Mount basketball as Donny Lind takes the helm of the program. The Mount is coming off a 13-19 campaign last year that including a 9-11 record in the MAAC. Dallas Hobbs (7.5 ppg), Dola Adebayo (6.7 ppg), Jedy Cordilia (6.6 ppg) and Terrell Ard, Jr. (5.9 ppg) are the team's top returning scorers. Point guard Xavier Lipscomb also returns this year. Lipscomb started the first two games last year before suffering a season-ending foot injury.
- This will be the first-ever meeting between the Mount and Notre Dame of Maryland. The Gators are in their second season as a program after posting a 3-19 record last year. The Mount's matchup with Notre Dame of Maryland will be the 11th time the Mountaineers have played a non-NCAA Division I team since moving to NCAA Division I in 1988-89. The Mount has posted a perfect 10-0 record in those contests with the last victory being a 60-38 win over McDaniel on November 15, 2022.
- Redshirt junior Dola Adebayo was named Third Team Preseason All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. Adebayo averaged 6.7 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 51.9 percent from the field. A starter in 13 of 32 games played last year, the 6-9 forward scored in double figures seven times, topped by a career-high 16 points on two occasions. Adebayo also led the Mount with 28 blocked shots while adding 33 steals.
- This will be the 116th season opener for the Mount St. Mary's men's basketball program. The Mount has a 58-57 all-time record in season openers, but is just 4-32 in season openers since moving to NCAA Division I in 1988-89. This will be the Mount's first season opener at home in 26 years dating back to a 92-88 overtime win over LaSalle on Nov. 14, 1998. The Mount's last win in a season opener was a 62-55 victory at Morgan State on Nov. 25, 2020. The Mountaineers are 24-12 in home openers in the Division I era, including wins in each of the past five seasons.
