MOUNT STORY LINES
  • Mount St. Mary's saw its two-game win streak stopped in a 79-51 loss at Georgetown on Wednesday night.  Terrell Ard Jr. led the Mount with 12 points, six rebounds and four assists while Dola Adebayo chipped in 10 points and six boards.  The Mount was held to 31.3 percent shooting (21-of-67) from the field, including 5-for-19 (.263) from three-point range.
  • Delaware State rallied from an eight-point halftime deficit to earn a 77-73 win over the Mount in Newark, Del., last season.  The win gives the Hornets a 2-1 lead in the all-time series with the home team winning in each game.
  • Despite the loss to Georgetown, the Mount is off to one of the best starts to a season since moving to NCAA Division I in 1988-89.  The last time the Mount was 3-2 after the first five games was during the 2009-10 season.  A Mount win over Delaware State would give the team its first 4-2 start to a season since 1995-96.
  • A win over Delaware State would also clinch a winning record for the Mount in the month of November for the first time since the program moved to NCAA Division I. The Mount has had a .500 record three times in the Division I era, and the most wins in the month of November in the D1 era is three, done on four occasions, the last coming during the 2022-23 season.
  • Terrell Ard Jr. has scored in double figures in each of the past three games for the Mountaineers, averaging 12.3 points and 7.0 rebounds over that span.  Dating back to last season, Ard Jr. is averaging 10.4 points while shooting 42-of-77 (.545) over his past 10 games in a Mount uniform.
  • Mount St. Mary's is 15-11 all-time against the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference.  The Mount's matchup with Delaware State is the first of two consecutive games against MEAC opponents this year as the Mount plays at Howard in their next game on November 30.  The Mount has played the following MEAC opponents:  Coppin State (6-1), Howard (4-2), Norfolk State (2-0), Morgan State (2-2), Florida A&M (1-0), Delaware State (1-2), Maryland Eastern Shore (1-2), North Carolina A&T (0-1) and Savannah State (0-1).
  • Up next, the Mount plays at Howard on Saturday, November 30, at 2:00 p.m.
