Emmitsburg, MD (November 16, 2024) – The Mountaineers men's rugby team took the win against Southern Virginia Saturday (Nov. 16) in their final regular season contest of the season, 52-14.

How it Happened

• The  Mount started off the scoring with three unanswered tries coming from Xavier Lock (1) and Joe Sharrock (2).
• Evan Corbett added to his season total of points, converting all three kicks.
• SVU answered with two tries within three minutes of each other.
• The Mount sealed their domination of the half with another try coming from Sharrock, his third of the game.
• At the half the Mountaineers led, 26-14.
• The Mounts' reign continued in the second half with a try coming from Shemar Lewis 10 minutes into the half.
• Eight minutes later, Dian Van Der Watt scored a try of his own.
• Christopher Wylde pulled his weight scoring his try.
• Corbett converted two of his three kicks in the half going 5-for-6.
• Freshman Chase Brown scored the final try for the Mount.
• The conversion from Bastian Brunello rounded out the Mounts' win, 52-14
