EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 9, 2024) – Mount St. Mary's women's soccer fell to the Saint Peter's Peacocks in Jersey City by a 2-1 final Wednesday.
Sydoney Clarke got the Mount's goal, equalizing the match in the second half. The senior now has seven for the season, scoring on a free kick delivered by Nathalie Meija. The assist was Meija's first of the season, placing her tied with
Erin Antone and
Luisangely Navas at five points.
Saint Peter's posted their first score in the 53
rd minute on a shot from Lucia Mansilla Medina. Joana Dias provided the assist on that goal before earning the unassisted game winner in the 81
st minute.
At the midway point of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), the Mount stands at 2-3-1 with seven points.
Returning home this weekend, the Mountaineers host Fairfield on Saturday, October 12. Kickoff is at noon from Waldron Family Stadium.
