EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 11, 2024) – Mount St. Mary's swimming and diving face off against Messiah in their first dual meet of the year on Saturday. After a 208-49 victory for the men and a 182-77 victory for the women in last year's edition of the match up, the team looks to build on their success from last season against the Falcons.

MOUNT UPDATE

After finishing 5
th in both the men's and women's side of the competition at the Potomac Relays on September 27, the Mount faced the challenging field of Georgetown, George Mason, Howard, Mary Washington.

At the relays, the women's 200-yard medley team of
Hanna Aggen,
Carmen Del Aguila,
Christina Lazari, and
Meghan Speicher placed fourth in the event with a time of 1:47.95. On the men's side, the 800-Yard Freestyle Relay team of
Peter Verderese,
Nicholas Santorelli,
Joshua Nelson, and
Antonio Gurri placed third in the event with a time of 7:02.36.

SCOUTING THE FALCONS

The dual meet against the Mountaineers will be the first competition of the year for Messiah. In last year's edition of their meeting, the Falcons scored 77 points and 49 points on the men's and women's side respectively. At the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships last year, Messiah's women's team won conferences among a field of 11 schools and the men finished seventh among a field of 12.
