Leal Uribe Earns Gold Medal at Juegos Nacionales Conade 2023

Aguascalientes, Mexico (June 30, 2023) – Rising Mount Bowling sophomore Trishelle Leal Uribe took home gold medal honors in the doubles event at the Juegos Nacionales Conade 2023.

The event is a national competition featuring the best bowlers from throughout the country of Mexico. Leal Uribe competed in the sub-21 division and placed first with her teammate Paulina Avalos after the two combined for a 2353 total pin-fall following six games from each.

A blazing start from Leal Uribe was instrumental in the victory as the Mount's top frame average bowler from the 2022-23 season started competition with a 216, 269 and 228 for a 713 opening three game series. She would finish with a 1265 total (210.83 average). Her teammate would pitch in with a 1088 in the gold medal performance. Leal Uribe was the highest six game total out of all competitors in the event with a 1263 from Andrea Perez next in line.

"I am beyond proud of Trishelle for representing her home and Mount Bowling well on Mexico's biggest stage," said head coach Kenneth DeGraaf. "She has worked so hard and improved so much since we first got her on campus. I am glad to see her reap the benefits of this hard work. She will be instrumental in our program's success this season as we are counting on her to be a leader both on and off the lanes."

Leal Uribe will come back to campus in August with the rest of the 2023-24 Mount Bowling team. Competition will begin in October and a schedule with a schedule announcement soon on the Mount Bowling website.
