SCHEDULE UPDATE: The Mount's weekend schedule has been adjusted due to the weather forecast. The Mount's doubleheader at Iona scheduled for Saturday has been moved to noon on Monday, April 3. The Mount's trip will now begin with Sunday's noon doubleheader at Fairfield.
MOUNT UPDATE: Mount St. Mary's stretched its win streak to four with a doubleheader sweep of visiting Coppin State on Tuesday. The Mountaineers used strong pitching performances in each game to fuel the wins. In the opening game, the Mount rallied from a 2-0 first-inning deficit for a 3-2 victory.Â

ABOUT IONA: Iona rallied for a 10-7 win over Columbia on Wednesday to improve to 7-16-1 this season. Jamie Sheeran cracked two home runs and drove in five runs in the win over the Lions. Jessica Chilcott also homered against Columbia, going 2-for-2 with three runs scored in the game. Sheeran leads Iona with a .333 average while leading the MAAC with 10 home runs and 26 RBI. Kara Zazzaro is the top pitcher with a 3-4 record and a 3.84 ERA in 51.0 innings of work.
ALL-TIME SERIES WITH IONA: Mount St. Mary's is 2-2 all-time against Iona in a series that began in 1992. This will be the first meeting between the two teams since a 4-3 Mount victory on March 5, 2011, at the UMBC Tournament. The Mountaineers have won the past two matchups after Iona opened the series with a two-game sweep at the Mount on March 16, 1992.
ABOUT FAIRFIELD: Fairfield fell to 5-12 on the year with a 2-1 loss to Yale on Wednesday. The loss snapped Fairfield's two-game win streak that included victories over Central Connecticut and Sacred Heart. Delaney Whieldon leads Fairfield with a .317 average while Charli Warren (.309) and Megan Forbes (.304) are also over .300. Allie Bridgman leads the pitchers with a 2-5 record and a 3.08 ERA.
ALL-TIME SERIES WITH FAIRFIELD: Mount St. Mary's is 1-2 all-time against Fairfield with all three meetings coming at a neutral site. The Stags defeated the Mount, 11-6, on Feb. 18, 2022, at the Wolfpack Classic hosted by NC State. The teams split a pair of games in 2018 at the Towson Tiger Clash.
HOME SWEET HOME: The Mount's sweep of Coppin State gave the Mount a 10-2 record on its 12-game homestand. The Mount's 10-2 home record this year gives the team a 25-6 record at Our Lady of the Meadows Field over the past two seasons. Since 2019, the Mount has an impressive 48-21 record at home.
25-GAME START: The Mountaineers moved over .500 with the sweep of Coppin State on Tuesday. The Mount's 13-12 record after 25 games is the best 25-game mark by a Mount team since the 2010 squad was 15-10. Since moving to NCAA Division I in 1988-89, the Mount has had two winnings season (31-25 in 2006; 26-22 in 2022).
PITCHING STAFF SHINES: The Mount St. Mary's pitching staff has combined for a 2.19 ERA this season. That mark ranks 34
th in the nation. Individually,
Avery Neuhart leads the staff with a 4-2 record and a 1.35 ERA in 52.0 innings of work. Neuhart's 1.35 ERA ranks 32
nd in NCAA Division I this year. Freshman
Maddie Coleman is 2-4 with a 2.23 ERA in 44.0 innings of work while holding the opposition to a .178 average. Coleman is 26
th in the nation, allowing just 4.14 hits per seven innings pitched.Â

LEADING OFF:Â Junior second baseman
Abigayle Perry is the Mount's leadoff hitter. Perry leads the Mount and is second in the MAAC with a .472 on-bae percentage. Perry is hitting .242 on the year while leading the Mount with three home runs, 19 runs scored, 22 walks and 11 stolen bases. She is eighth in the country with 0.88 walks per game this year.
BONSHOCK CLIMBING THE CHARTS:Â Graduate student
Kaia Bonshock continues to climb the career charts for the Mountaineers. Bonshock has moved into ninth all-time at the Mount with 150 career hits, is tied for second with 39 career doubles, eight with 85 RBI and ninth with 493 at bats.Â
