MOUNT STORY LINES
  • Mount St. Mary's used a big second  half to rally past Quinnipiac for a 79-75 win this past Sunday.  Jalen Benjamin led the Mount with 23 points while Jedy Cordilia added 22.  The Mount scored 49 points in the second half, shooting 73.1 percent (19-of-26) from the field.  The Mount trailed by as many as 14 points in the first half and by six at the break.  Xavier Lipscomb was big down the stretch with a lay-up that put the Mount up by four in the final minute, and then hitting the two clinching free throws with seven seconds left.  Lipscomb matched his season high with 12 points in the victory.
  • Siena has won all five all-time meetings with the Mount, including a 72-57 win in Albany on January 20.  This will be the first meeting between the two teams at Knott Arena since a 65-53 Siena win on Nov. 19, 2011.
  • Jedy Cordilia scored a career high 22 points while adding eight rebounds in the Mount's 79-75 win at Siena.  Cordilia is averaging 11.7 points and 6.3 rebounds while shooting 63.8 percent from the field since entering the starting lineup seven games ago.
  • The Mount scored a season-high 79 points in the win at Quinnipiac on Sunday.  It is the fifth time this season, but the first since Dec. 1 against Saint Peter's, that the Mount has scored 70 or more in a game.
  • Mount St. Mary's shot 73.1 percent (19-of-26) from the field in the second half of the 79-75 win at Quinnipiac on Sunday.  That is the best shooting half by a Mount team since shooting 75.9 percent (22-of-29) in the first half of a 104-84 win at Norfolk State on January 3, 2014.  It is the fourth time the Mount has shot 70 percent or better in a half since the 2013-14 season.
  • The Mountaineers had two players top the 20-point plateau in the win over Quinnipiac.  Jalen Benjamin scored a team-high 23 points while Jedy Cordilia notched a career-best 22.  Benjamin and Cordilia are the first pair of Mountaineers to reach 20 points in the same game since Damian Chong Qui (22) and Josh Reaves (22) in a 76-64 win over Sacred Heart on January 31, 2021.
  • The Air Elite Dunkers, the Official Dunk Team for the NBA's Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, Cleveland Cavaliers , Denver Nuggets, New York Knicks, Orlando Magic, San Antonio Spurs, Toronto Raptors and Washington Wizards, will perform at halftime of Friday night's game.  Tickets are available at www.mountathletics.com.
