EMMITSBURG, Md.  (February 21,2023) – Mount St. Mary's baseball had two players of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) weekly awards. Jeff Davis won pitcher of the week and Tyler Long won player of the week. 

Playing in his first and second collegiate games, freshman Jeff Davis recorded a win and a save this weekend versus the Longwood Lacers to help propel the Mount to 3-0. In his win, Davis pitched two scoreless innings and notched two strikeouts. In his save, Davis, closed the final two outs of the ninth with consecutive strikeouts.

In the first series of the year, Junior Tyler Long put on a stellar show. Long went 8-11 at the plate with a .727 BA, with three walks. Long tallied two doubles, one RBI, and one stolen base in the three game series. Long, The Mount's starting shortstop, also put up a 1.000% fielding percentage recording two put outs and seven assists.

The Mountaineers travel to Coppin State today at 3pm in Baltimore.
