MOUNT STORY LINES
  • Mount St. Mary's dropped a high-octane affair, 94-82, at Georgia on Wednesday night.  Georgia native Dakota Leffew, playing before a host of friends and family, paced the Mount with a career-high 26 points while De'Shayne Montgomery added 23.  Jedy Cordilia chipped in 13 points on 6-of-7 shooting.  The Mount shot 55.9 percent from the floor in the game, including a sizzling 65.6 percent (21-of-32) in the second half.
  • Mount St. Mary's scored 82 points in the loss at Georgia, the third time the team has topped the 80-point mark this year.  The Mount did not score 80 points in a game last season, and the three 80-point games this year are the most since the 2017-18 team reached the 80-point plateau nine times.
  • LIU leads the all-time series with the Mount, 35-34, having won the past two meetings between the teams.  Former rivals in the Northeast Conference, this is the first time the teams will play since the Mount moved to the MAAC last season.  LIU defeated the Mount in the 2013 Northeast Conference championship game.  The Mountaineers are 21-13 all-time at home against the Sharks.
  • The Sharks enter Saturday's matchup with a 1-9 record this season. LIU has lost five in a row, and is coming off an 83-61 loss at Rutgers this past Saturday.  Eric Acker leads LIU in scoring at 12.3 points per game while chipping in 4.0 rebounds and 3.4 assists.  Tai Strickland is averaging 11.2 points and Tana Kopa 10.1 on the year.
  •  Dakota Leffew (26) and De'Shayne Montgomery (23) each reached the 20-point mark in the loss at Georgia on Wednesday.  It is the fourth time this season that the Mountaineers have had a pair of 20-point scorers in the same game.  That is the most games with a pair of 20-point scorers by the Mountaineers since the 2013-14 season when Rashad Whack and Julian Norfleet each scored 20 in the same game on four occasions.
  • Mount St. Mary's scored 82 points in the loss at Georgia, the third time the team has topped the 80-point mark this year.  The Mount did not score 80 points in a game last season, and the three 80-point games this year are the most since the 2017-18 team reached the 80-point plateau nine times.
