MOUNT STORY LINES
  • Mount St. Mary's opens the 2023-24 season by visiting Maryland on Tuesday night at the XFINITY Center.  Fans can watch on Big Ten Plus and can listen to the Mount radio broadcast on 930 WFMD with Adam Pohl calling the action.  Tip-off is set for 7:00 p.m.
  • The Mountaineers are beginning the 115th season in program history with Tuesday's matchup with the Terrapins.  The Mountaineers are coming off a 13-20 season that saw the Mount finish in eighth place in its first season in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.  The Mount closed the 2022-23 season strong, going 5-2 over the final seven games, including a MAAC Tournament win over Canisius in the First Round.
  • The Mount was picked seventh in the annual MAAC Preseason Coaches poll.  Senior guard Dakota Leffew was named Preseason First Team All-MAAC.  Rider was tabbed as the league favorite with 117 points and eight first-place votes, followed by Iona (108, 2 first place votes), Canisius (89, 1 first place vote), Siena (77), Quinnipiac (71), Fairfield (70), Mount St. Mary's (59), Marist (48), Niagara (43), Saint Peter's (30) and Manhattan (14).
  • Mount St. Mary's outlasted Bucknell, 72-67, in double overtime in the Behan Strong Charity Exhibition Game at Knott Arena on October 28.  Dakota Leffew led the Mount with 23 points while Joshua Reaves added 14 in the victory.  The game was played to benefit "Behan Strong", a foundation set up to support Pat Behan '10, a former Bison standout player who was most recently the head boys' basketball coach at St. John's College High School in Washington, D.C. Pat is currently in a battle with ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), also known as Lou Gehrig's disease.
  • Up next, the Mountaineers host Coppin State for the home opener on Saturday, November 11, at 4:00 p.m. at Knott Arena.  Tickets are available online, and fans can contact the Mount Ticket office at 301-447-5700 or via email at tickets@msmary.edu for more information.
