MOUNT STORY LINES
- A slow start was the difference as Mount St. Mary's lost at Georgetown, 83-72, this past Saturday. After allowing Georgetown to take an 11-point lead in the opening four minutes, the teams played even the rest of the way. Freshman De'Shayne Montgomery led four Mount players in double figures with a season-high 17 points off the bench. Dakota Leffew and Dola Adebayo added 14 points each while Dallas Hobbs had 10 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in his first collegiate start for the Mountaineers.Â
- This will be the 70th all-time meeting between the Mount and American in a series that dates back to 1942. The Eagles have won the past three matchups, including a 69-61 victory at the Mount on Dec. 6 last season. The road team has won the past five games in the series. This will be the first time the teams have played at AU's Bender Arena since the Mount's 56-55 win on December 18, 2018. The Mount is 13-17 all-time on the road against American, including a 4-2 mark over the past six games played at Bender Arena.
- Freshman Dallas Hobbs finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds and five assists in his first collegiate start at Georgetown on Saturday. He is just the third Mount player since 2010 to record 10+ points, 10+ rebounds and 5+ assists in the same game, joining George Tinsley, who had 10 points, 11 rebounds and five boards in the Mount's MAAC First Round win over Canisius on March 7, and Chris Wray, who had 14 points, 13 rebounds and six assists in a win over Robert Morris on Feb. 1, 2018. Hobbs is also the first Mount freshman to record a double-double since Jonah Antonio had 23 points and 10 rebounds in a win over York College on Nov. 21, 2017.
- Up next, the Mountaineers host Howard on Saturday, November 25, at 4:00 p.m. Click HERE for tickets. The Mount will then begin Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference play at Manhattan on Friday, December 1, before returning home to host Siena on Sunday, December 3, at 1:00 p.m.
