EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 2^nd, 2023) – Mount St. Mary's swimming and diving competes in their home opener this Friday as they host American University. The meet will begin at 1 p.m. in Emmitsburg, Md. at the ARCC Swimming Pool
 
MOUNT UPDATE
 
The Mountaineers dove back into the season at the American University Relays two weekends ago. The men's team finished fifth with 228 points. Their best placement was in the 3X100 yard breaststroke in which Jacob Wallace, Griffin Distler, and Aidan Grady finished third with a finals time of 2:57.04. The women's team finished fourth with 234 points. Christina Lazari, Emily Myers, and Aracelli Skiles finished second in the 3X100 freestyle with a finals time of 3:26.80.
 
SCOUTING AMERICAN
 
Per the men's side, the Eagles are finished fourth at the American Relays and are o-1 on the season losing at home against UMBC. On the women's side, The Eagles finished third at the relays and are also 0-1 on the season with a home loss against UMBC.
 
HISTORY WITH AMERICAN
 
Women's swim and dive is an even 1-1 challenging the Eagles in the pool. The last matchup between the two was on October 30^th, 2015, in a neutral site win for the Mountaineers.
 
Men's swim and dive will have their first opportunity to challenge American as they have not met in program history.
