EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 31, 2023) – Mount St. Mary's men's soccer faces a playoff-style situation as the 2023 regular season ends. Heading to Niagara, the Mountaineers must defeat the Purple Eagles to advance to the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) tournament and keep their season alive.
MOUNT UPDATE: A penalty goal in the 72
nd minute spurred Iona to a 2-1 win over the Mount last Saturday, countering a 54
th minute goal by
Jonathan Yowell. The junior's score was the first time he found the back of the net as a Mountaineer, and he became the 11
th different member of the team to register a goal.
Mackie Sacarellos assisted on the Yowell strike to tie

ABOUT NIAGARA: The Purple Eagles took points in three matches out of four to pull ahead of the Mount in the standings but fell 3-1 to Quinnipiac last Saturday to help set up Wednesday's scenario.
