Mount Swim & Dive Challenges Messiah Marking First Time in Program History

EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 19th, 2023) – Mount St. Mary's swim and dive travel to Grantham, Pa. this weekend to compete in an afternoon dual meet with a 1 o'clock start time.
 
MOUNT UPDATE
 
Men and women's swimming and diving last competed in their home swimming pool where both teams fell to Howard. The men's team lost 161-59, while the women's team lost 156-62. The women's team had impressive elements in their meet as they were able to claim a new school record in the 400-meter medley relay as Hanna Aggen, Christina Lazari, Maddy Samuels, and Abigail Steckiel stole the record with a time of 4:26.46. Aidan Grady had a first-place finish in the 100-meter breaststroke with a finals time of 1:03.32.
 
SCOUTING MESSIAH
 
The Falcons have only one meet under their belt this season, the meet being a charity Alumni meet in which there was no winner. Last season the Falcons finished 10-2 on the men's side and 11-2 on the women's side.
 
The women's team won the MAC championships, while the men place fourth in the 2022-23 season.
 
HISTORY WITH MESSIAH
 
This will be the first time in program history that Messiah and Mount' St. Mary's swim & dive challenge each other in the pool.
