Hinton, Scott Promoted; Haag, An Added to Athletic Department Staff

EMMITSBURG, Md.  (September 21, 2022) – Mount St. Mary's promoted two members of its administrative staff to supervisory roles in recent weeks. Natalia Hinton becomes the Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance and Inclusive Excellence, while Travis Scott now serves as the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach. In addition, David Haag joins the staff with the appointment of new position of Coordinator of Live Productions, and Roger An comes on as a coach with track & field.

Hinton is a former Mount St. Mary's track & field athlete who joined the staff in September 2021. In her role as the Director of Academics and Student-Athlete Development, she assisted players on the academic side of their college experience. A 2017 graduate, Hinton competed in the hurdles and jumps, setting a school record in the outdoor long jump. Before her time in Emmitsburg, she held positions with The Language & Behavior Center and with the Frederick City Police Department.

Scott boasts almost a decade of experience working at institutions, mainly in southern Pennsylvania. A graduate of Shippensburg, he spent 18 months working for the Raiders as an assistant and an interim head coach. But his main professional credit is at Scotland Campus, where he served as an Assistant Athletic Director and Director of Strength & Conditioning from 2015 until his appointment as assistant for Mount St. Mary's.

The administrative duo takes the spots of Alexis Watson and Joe Sharp, respectively, who move on to opportunities at different institutions.

Haag, in his role as Coordinator of Live Productions, oversees all broadcasting for Mount Athletics, including ESPN+ and Sidearm streaming. He will supervise the brand-new studio built by the university in the McGowan Center for production of these broadcasts to a national audience. Hailing from the Midwest, Haag gained experience at the University of Nebraska-Omaha, with KSNT-TV in Topeka and Pittsburg State Athletics in Kansas. The latter is his alma mater, where he graduated in 2016.

An comes to the Mount after three years' experience between Amherst College and Lake Superior State University. While coaching for the Mammoths and Lakers, his student-athletes broke school records, won gold medals at the conference championships, and almost all improved times throughout the year.  An is a certified strength and conditioning coach and also is a certified nutritional consultant by the National Association of Sports Medicine. He graduated with a bachelor's of Africana Studies from the College of Wooster in 2018 and a Master's of management with a focus in sport administration from Southern Nazarene University in 2020.
