MOUNT UPDATE: The Mount St. Mary's men's golf begins their 2022 fall season by traveling to Verona, N.Y. to compete in the Turning Stone Invitational. The Mount competed in this tournament last year and placed 11
th place.
The team consists of one freshman (
Nathan Pheng), two sophomores (
Aaron Sorkin and
Devin Smith), three juniors (
Juan Fredera,
Hank Schaefer, and
Ben Smith), five seniors (
Mitchell Gallo,
Joseph O'Malley,
Devin Peart,
Sergio Quijano Sanin, and
Jack Strame), along with 3 graduate students (
Matthew Kinsey,
Michael Robinson, and
Jack Straub). Head coach
Kevin Farrell returns for his eighth season, while
Brent Will is in his first season with as an assistant coach with the golf program.
Among the returners, Schaefer and
Devin Smith played the most rounds and logged the top averages from a year ago. Both competing 26 times, Schaefer led with a 74.96 stroke average, followed by Smith at 75.46.
UPCOMING SCHEDULE
The men's team will be heading to Barboursville, W. Va. At the Guyan Golf & Country Club the next weekend (Sep 12-13) to compete in the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational.
