MOUNT STORY LINES
  •  Mount St. Mary's heads to Wagner to face the Northeast Conference leaders on Thursday afternoon in a game that will air live on ESPNU.  Wagner, 16-2 overall and 12-0 in the NEC,  enters the game with the longest win streak in the nation at 13 games.
  • Mount St. Mary's saw its six-game win streak snapped in a hard-fought 62-61 loss to Bryant on Saturday at Knott Arena.  The Mount had a pair of chances to win on its final possession, but Nana Opoku's shot was off the mark and then Jalen Benjamin's corner three-pointer at the buzzer was blocked.  The Mountaineers led by 10 in the first half and 36-31 at the half before Bryant rallied for the win.  Mezie Offurum led the Mount with 16 points while Benjamin added 13 in the game.  Nana Opoku had nine points and 11 boards while Malik Jefferson added 10 rebounds.
  • Mount St. Mary's saw its streak of six straight games holding the opposition under 60 broken in Saturday's 62-61 loss to Bryant. It matched the longest such streak by a Mount team since the school moved to DI in 1988-89. The Mount also compiled six-game streaks twice during Milan Brown's tenure at the Mount (2003-10).
  • Over the past seven games, Mount St. Mary's is holding NEC opponents to 54.9 ppg, 37.2 percent overall shooting, 26.5 percent three-point shooting and 0.89 points per possession. The Mount leads the NEC in defensive efficiency (92.7) and effective field goal percentage (43.9) in league games.
  • This will be the first meeting between the Mount and Wagner since the Mount's 66-60 win in last year's Northeast Conference semifinals at the Spiro Sports Center on March 6.  That victory stopped Wagner's five-game win streak in the series.  The Seahawks hold a 42-24 lead in the all-time series, including a 21-12 advantage at home.
  • Nana Opoku had nine points and 11 rebounds in the Mount's one-point setback to Bryant on Saturday.  Opoku averaged a double-double of 10.5 points and 10.0 rebounds in the Mount's two games last week.
  • Jalen Benjamin leads the Mount with four 20-point games this season.  He is coming off a 13-point effort against Bryant, and has scored in double figures in 14 of the Mount's 22 games this season.
  • The Mountaineers stay on the road, heading to Saint Francis U on Saturday, February 12.  Tip-off for that game is set for 4:00 p.m.
