MOUNT STORY LINES
-  Dakota Leffew scored a team-high 15 points off the bench to help Mount St. Mary's to a 69-53 win over Merrimack on Thursday night at Knott Arena. Malik Jefferson added 12 points and 12 rebounds for his first double-double of the season while Nana Opoku just missed a double-double of his own with 12 points and nine boards. Trailing 21-14, the Mount closed the first half on a 15-to-3 run to take a 29-24 lead at the half. The Mount quickly pushed the advantage to double digits in the second half and led by eight or more points the rest of the way.
- Mount St. Mary's is riding a six-game win streak heading into the game with Bryant. The six-game streak is the longest by a Mount team since the 2016-17 squad won eight in a row en route to the 2017 Northeast Conference regular season and tournament titles.
- Mount St. Mary's has held each opponent during its six-game win streak under 60 points, the third time the team has achieved that feat since moving to NCAA Division I in 1988-89. The Mount has not held seven opponents in a row under 60 since an 11-game streak during the 1946-47 season.
- The Mount lost at Bryant, 73-66, on January 15 in the first meeting between the two teams this season. The Mount holds a 16-10 lead in the all-time series, including a 10-2 mark at Knott Arena. The Mount defeated Bryant, 73-68, in last year's Northeast Conference championship game. This is Bryant's first appearance at Knott Arena since 79-76 Mount win on Jan. 25, 2020.
- Dakota Leffew matched a career high with 15 points while adding six rebounds in the Mount's win over Merrimack on Thursday. Leffew is averaging 7.8 points and 6.5 rebounds over the past four games, connecting on 7-of-13 (.538) from three-point range over that stretch.
- Malik Jefferson recorded his first double-double of the season with 12 points and 12 rebounds in the win over Merrimack. Jefferson now has 14 career double-doubles, moving him one behind Michael Watson for the most career double-doubles since the Mount moved to NCAA Division I in 1988-89.
- Up next, the Mount has another tough test with a road game at undefeated Northeast Conference leader Wagner on Thursday, February 10. The game will air live on ESPNU and tip-off is slated for 5:00 p.m. at Wagner's Spiro Sports Center.
