  • The Mount's matchup with Saint Peter's will be the school's first Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference game.  Mount St. Mary's joined the MAAC on May 2 after a 33-year run in the Northeast Conference.
  • This will be the first meeting between the Mount and Saint Peter's in 45 seasons.  The all-time series is tied, 2-2, with the Mount winning the last matchup, 71-69, in Emmitsburg, Md., on December 10, 1977.
  • Graduate forward Malik Jefferson is on the cusp of scoring his 1,000th career point at the Mount.  Jefferson, who has started 116 of 117 career games played as a Mountaineer, has 999 career points, needing just one more to become the 49th player in school history to reach the 1,000-point plateau.  He also has 808 career rebounds, 12th on the Mount's all-time list.
  • Jalen Benjamin has put together a strong start to the 2022-23 season, averaging 17.9 points, 5.6 assists and 3.7 rebounds on the year.  Benjamin has scored in double figures in all seven games, topped by a 23-point effort at Coppin State.  The 5-10 senior is 17th in the nation in usage rate (32.2%) and 36th in the country in assist rate (35.7%).
  • Mount St. Mary's has been sharing the basketball this season, ranking first in the MAAC and 38th in the nation with assists on 59.6 percent of the team's baskets.  The Mountaineers are averaging 14.9 assists per game on the year, topped by a season-high 20 (on 27 baskets) in the win at Pacific.
