MOUNT STORY LINES
- Mount St. Mary's fell at USC, 83-74, on Friday night in Los Angeles. Dakota Leffew paced the Mount with 21 points while Malik Jefferson added a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds. Jalen Benjamin chipped in 17 points and seven assists in the game. Trailing by 17 late in the game, the Mount rattled off a 10-0 run and had a chance to cut into the lead further, but a turnover led to a USC basket and the Trojans were able to hold on for the win.
- This will be the first-ever meeting between the Mount and Cal Poly. In addition, it will be the first-ever game against a Big West opponent for the Mountaineers.
- Dakota Leffew scored a career high 21 points in the Mount's 83-74 loss at USC on Friday. Leffew has scored in double figures in each of the Mount's four games. He is averaging 15.0 points while shooting 12-of-30 (.400) from three-point range on the year.
- Malik Jefferson had 16 points and 11 rebounds in the Mount's 83-74 loss at USC on Friday night. It is the 15th career double-double for Jefferson, who matches Michael Watson (1991-95) for the most career double-doubles by a Mount player since the school moved to NCAA Division I in 1988-89.
- Malik Jefferson has been on fire from the field, converting 17-of-18 from the floor over the past two-plus games, including a streak of 16 consecutive makes. The 6-9 graduate forward is shooting 66.7 percent (20-of-30) from the field this season, and he is fifth all-time at the Mount, making 55.7 percent from the field.
