Emmitsburg, Md. (October 6, 2022) – The Mountaineers men's and women's swimming and diving teams focus on Howard as they travel to Washington, D.C. on Saturday. This will be the first of five dual meets of the 2022-23 season.

About the Mount
Saturday marks the second meet and the first dual matchup of the year. The women's team finished the Potomac Relays in fifth place, scoring 356 points. The men's team finished the Potomac Relays in fifth place, scoring 402 points.

Aidan Grady,
Griffin Distler, and
Jacob Wallace raced in the men's 300 breaststroke. Distler raced in 59.03 seconds, Wallace 58.16, and Grady 55.64.

th all-time in the 100-yard breaststroke.

Meghan Speicher,
Elizabeth Horner, and
Claire Svetz raced in the 300-backstroke relay. Svetz logged 1:03.16, Horner (1:01.20), while Speicher logged a time of 1:02.15.
Christina Lazari set a new school record for the women's 100-yard backstroke with a fast time of 1:06.70, ousting the previous record set by Alyssa Felos (1:07.46) in 2017.

Scouting the Bison
The men's swim and dive team placed second at the Potomac Relays yet have lost their first meet of the season to Georgetown in a close score of 111-113. The women's swim and dive team placed fourth in the Potomac Relays and have also lost their first meet of the season by a score of 148-76.

Mount St. Mary's stand 10-1 versus the Bison on the women's side, while the men are 1-3, earning their win during a dual meet in 2018.
