EMMITSBURG, Md. (April 5, 2021) – Mount St. Mary's bowling cracked the 16-team field at the NCAA Tournament for the first time in program history this season. This week, the real test begins as the Mountaineers begin play in Region 2 on Wednesday.
First up is a showdown with Vanderbilt at 10 a.m., with a victory clinching a spot in the winner's bracket. A defeat sends them into the loser's bracket where they would have to fight at 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon to stave off elimination. Regardless of bracket, the opponent will be either Nebraska or Medaille.
All games in the regional will be streamed live on NCAA.com.
SETTING THE SCENE
The Mount finished the season at 37-18 and were one of four teams from the Northeast Conference selected to make the trip to Kansas City.

Tamera Stanton is right behind her with 327 strikes and a 53.4 strike percentage in Baker play.

THE FIELD
The quartet will be the most challenging one yet for the Mount, featuring #3 Nebraska and #5 Vanderbilt. Medaille earned the automatic qualifier from the Alleghany Mountain Collegiate Conference.
Mount St. Mary's is 3-0 all-time against Medaille with their best effort coming in a 1024-908 win in October 2018. The Mount stands 0-2 against Vanderbilt and 0-1 against Nebraska.
FORMAT
All meetings follow the Mega Match format, consisting of a best-of-three between a traditional set, a Baker set and a best-of-seven if necessary. The format was also featured at the NEC Championships.

th and 10
th.
