MOUNT STORY LINES
- Mount St. Mary's will rekindle its rivalry with former Northeast Conference foe Robert Morris on Friday night at the UPMC Events Center in Moon Township, Pa. Robert Morris holds a 36-35 lead in the all-time series with the Mountaineers that featured many tremendous post-season clashes. The Mount is 15-21 all-time on the road against the Colonials. The teams met five consecutive seasons in the Northeast Conference Tournament from 2006-2010, and had nine playoff matchups in a 15-year span as well.
- The Mountaineers fell to 1-3 on the season with an 80-55 loss at Kentucky on Tuesday night. The Mount trailed 29-25 with four minutes left in the opening half before Kentucky closed the half with a 9-to-2 run and then opened the second half with a 13-to-0 run to take control of the game. Jalen Benjamin and Josh Reaves each scored 11 points to pace the Mountaineers while Dakota Leffew chipped in 10 points off the bench.
- The matchup with Robert Morris is part of The Kentucky Classic, a multiple-team event (MTE) that also includes Ohio. The Kentucky Classic is a round robin format with each team playing each other one time,
- Nana Opoku registered his first three blocks of the season at Kentucky, giving the redshirt senior 149 for his career at the Mount, good for third on the school's all-time list.
- Josh Reaves has scored in double figures in each of the past three games, averaging 11.0 points over that stretch. The sophomore guard is 8-of-18 (.444) from three-point range over the three games, improving his career three-point percentage to 38.4 percent (48-for-125).
- Dakota Leffew scored 10 points against Kentucky and is averaging 9.3 points per game this season. The sophomore is shooting 48.1 percent from the floor and is averaging 12.5 points over the past two games. He scored a career-best 15 points in the Mount's loss at Saint Joseph's.
- The Mount's three Division I opponents (Villanova, Saint Joseph's and Kentucky) have combined to shoot 91.7 percent (31-of-34) at the foul line against the Mount this season.
