Friday, October 29th | 1 p.m. (St. Francis Brooklyn)
Saturday, October 30th | 11 a.m. (Wagner)
SFC Aquatic Center (Friday) | Spiro Sports Center (Saturday)

EMMITSBURG, Md. (October 28, 2021) – After posting victories against VMI this past weekend, the Mount St. Mary's swimming & diving teams head to the Big Apple to face some familiar Northeast Conference challengers.

Beginning Friday, the Mount squares off in back-to-back dual meets with St. Francis Brooklyn and Wagner.

ABOUT THE MOUNT

The women's team took a 204-91 win while the men's team defeated VMI 184-114 last Saturday. For the men's side, the win was the first since the 2018 season when they beat Howard.

Five student-athletes and a relay team broke Mount meter records during the event. Highlights included two new backstroke records from senior Kira Buchler and sophomore Jason Fitch, along with new breaststroke marks courtesy of freshman Aidan Grady.

SCOUTING THE TERRIERS AND SEAHAWKS

St. Francis Brooklyn invites the Mountaineers as they seek their first wins of the season. Both the men's and women's team fell victim to Long Island and Iona this season. Divers helped pace the women against Iona, and the Terriers found success from their 200 medley relay teams.

Wagner's women are off to a 2-0 start with wins over Iona and Sacred Heart, using strong efforts in several short distance events to claim victory. The Seahawk men are a brand new team playing in their second-ever meet. Competing against Iona for the inaugural meet, Wagner fell by a 167-28 final.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES

Mount St. Mary's men are 1-2 all-time against St. Francis Brooklyn, earning a win in 2018. The women's team won their initial eight meetings with the Terriers before succumbing to a 2019 meet and are seeking their first win over Wagner.

LOOKING AHEAD

Before Thanksgiving week, the Mountaineers are set to compete in the Franklin & Marshall Invitational in Pennsylvania.
