- Mount St. Mary's downed Bryant, 79-76, on Saturday before a raucous sellout crowd at Knott Arena. Vado Morse led four Mountaineers in double figures with 20 points while Jalen Gibbs added 15 in the win. Morse gave the Mount the lead for good, 69-68, with a traditional three-point play while Nana Opoku had a pair of blocks in the final minute to preserve a 74-73 lead. Morse and Gibbs then sealed the win at the free throw line.
- The Mount has won four in a row to move into third place in the Northeast Conference with a 5-2 league mark. It is the Mount's longest win streak since winning five in a row in 2017-18.
- Vado Morse has picked up his play of late, averaging 16.0 points while shooting 40.0 percent (10-of-25) from three-point range over the past three games. Morse, the reigning Northeast Conference Rookie of the Year, is averaging 11.2 points per game this season.
- Sophomore guard Damian Chong Qui has been a key for the Mount in Northeast Conference play this season. Chong Qui is averaging a team-high 13.1 points while adding 4.0 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 1.1 steals per game. Chong Qui is shooting 46.7 percent from the field, 47.6 percent from three-point range and 78.8 percent at the foul line in NEC games this year.
- The Mount has shown a big improvement on the offensive end over the past five games. The Mount is 4-1 over that stretch while averaging 69.0 points and shooting 45.2 percent from the field and 35.9 percent from three-point range. Overall, the Mount is averaging 64.6 points while shooting 40.2 percent overall and 29.6 percent from beyond the arc.
- Balance has been a big part of the Mount's recent surge as well. Five players are averaging in double figures over the five-game stretch, led by Vado Morse's 13.6 points per game. Damian Chong Qui (12.2), Nana Opoku (12.2), Malik Jefferson (11.8) and Jalen Gibbs (10.6) are also in double figures.
