MOUNT UPDATE: The Mountaineers opened Northeast Conference play with a pair of one-goal losses last week. In the NEC opener, the Mount jumped out to the early lead, but saw Saint Francis U scored the game-winning goal 30 seconds into the second overtime for a 2-1 victory. Two days later, Robert Morris posted a 1-0 win over the Mount, scoring the lone goal of the game on a first-half penalty kick. Jasmine McCree and Maddie Tchou lead the Mount with one goal each while Maggie Barron has a 1.30 goals against average and a .870 save percentage in five appearances in goal.
ABOUT THE BLUE DEVILS: Central Connecticut, the defending Northeast Conference champions, enters the game with a 2-3-4 overall record and an 0-0-1 mark in NEC play. The Blue Devils are 0-1-3 over their past four games, including a 3-0 loss to Yale this past Sunday. CCSU tied Bryant, 1-1, in double overtime in the team's NEC opener. Roma McLaughlin leads the team with four goals and nine points while Erica Bardes has a team-high four assists. In goal, Amanda McQuillan has a 1.01 goals against average and 31 saves in seven games.
ALL-TIME SERIES: Central Connecticut holds a 17-4-3 lead in the all-time series with the Mountaineers that began in 1995. The Mount has had some success of late against CCSU, going 1-2-2 over the past five matchups. Last year, the Blue Devils posted a 4-0 win in New Britain, Conn. The Mount's last win in the series was a 1-0 victory on October 1, 2017. CCSU's last win in Emmitsburg, Md., was a 2-0 victory on October 27, 2013.
LAST MEETING: Central Connecticut scored three goals in a six-minute span early in the second half to break open a tight game en route to a 4-0 win last year in New Britain, Conn. Shauny Alterisio scored ona free kick from 40 yards out in the first half to open the scoring.
