Mount St. Mary's Baseball Heads To George Mason For Mid-Week Action On Wednesday

MOUNT UPDATE
14 runs helped the Mount St. Mary's baseball team top Fairleigh Dickinson 14-1 in the final game of the series on Sunday afternoon. Alex KrissVaughn Parker IIThomas Savastio, and Brendan Dabagian each recorded multi-hit games for the Mount in the win. Kriss and Parker led the Mountaineer offense with a combined 4 for 8 day with six runs batted in. Freshman, Jordan Geber started the game for the Mount and pitched six innings while only giving one run on just two hits. Geber also struck out seven batters as well to move his season strike outs to 28. Another freshman, Andrew Dameron pitched three shut out innings while also only allowing two hits for Mount St. Mary's. With the win, Mount St. Mary's jumps to 13-23 on the year with a Northeast Conference (NEC) mark of 7-10 and Fairleigh Dickinson drops to 9-24 on the season with a 1-13 mark in NEC play.

ABOUT THE PATRIOTS
The Patriots game with Maryland on Tuesday was cancelled so their last game was at VCU this past weekend. George Mason freshman Jared DiCesare pitched 10 scoreless innings, but the Patriots dropped the final game of their three game series against VCU by the final score of 1-0 in 12 innings at The Diamond in Richmond, Va. Mason (16-22, 7-5 A-10) and VCU (26-14, 10-5 A-10) remained scoreless after 11 innings. DiCesare was nearly unhittable, allowing just three singles over the first three innings.  He then retired the next 22 batters he faced before turning the game over to senior Ryan Ricci in the 11th inning. Rams sophomore starter Sam Ryan also turned in a solid outing, allowing two hits to the Patriots over five innings.

ALL-TIME SERIES WITH GEORGE MASON
The Mountaineers are 2-10 all-time against George Mason since moving to NCAA Division I in 1989. The Patriots have won the last five matchups, including a 19-4 win at the Mount last year. The Mount's last win against George Mason was a 5-4 road victory on March 13, 2007. George Mason is 5-1 on their home field against the Mountaineers in the all-time series.
