ABOUT THE MOUNT
The Mount St. Mary's baseball topped Coppin State 4-1 in a rain-shortened game on Wednesday, February 21. Sophomore southpaw, Trey McGough, pitched a complete game for the Mount only giving up one earned run while striking out four batters. Freshman, Thomas Savastio, recorded his first career hit while going 2 for 3 with two singles on the day. Alex Kriss also went 2 for 3 with two doubles and a run batted in. Sean Kelly and Vaughn Parker II each added a RBI for the Mount, Kelly hit a triple that brought Savastio in to score and Parker plated Kriss on his single. The Mountaineers open up the 2018 season at 1-0 with the win.
