Mount St. Mary's Baseball Clipped By Fairleigh Dickinson On Friday Afternoon

Teaneck, N.J. (April 7, 2017) - Vaughn Parker II recorded a multi-hit game while Sean Kelly and Zach Hostetter drove in two runs but Mount St. Mary's was clipped by Fairleigh Dickinson 5-2 in the first game of the series.

The Mount started the scoring in the top of the second plating two runs to take the early lead. Kelly doubled to left center that brought in Parker for the first run and Hostetter hit a RBI groundout to the shortstop that scored Dennis Stewart for the second run.

The Knights evened the score at two apiece in the bottom of the third inning off of a throwing error that plated Brandon Seltzer and Matt McCann. FDU added another run in the bottom of the fifth and two more in the bottom of the sixth. Jorge Iza homered to center field that scored Hunter Reeser to climb out to the 5-2 lead. 

Seth Schubert (0-6) picked up the loss for the Mount while Logan Frati (1-3) picked up the win for the Knights.

These two teams will play a doubleheader tomorrow, April 8 at 1 pm.
