Emmitsburg, Md. (March 26, 2016) – Starting pitcher Connor Graber allowed just four hits in eight solid innings of work, but Mount St. Mary's University baseball fell to Wagner, 2-0, in the final game of the series on Saturday at Straw Family Stadium.

Graber struck out five and allowed just five baserunners while yielding one earned run in his longest outing of the season. His counterpart, Matt Morris, picked up the win for Wagner, going 5.0 scoreless with four strikeouts.

Graber shut down the Seahawks for the first five innings before they were able to scratch out a run in the top of the sixth. Brendan Benecke led off the frame with a double to left center, and later advanced to third on a passed ball. With one out, Nick Mascelli lifted a ball to center for a sac fly as Wagner jumped on top, 1-0.

The Mountaineers threatened in the bottom half of the sixth after a leadoff single by Zach Hostetter and a walk from Tyler Post gave the Mount runners at first and second with nobody out. Morris then registered a strikeout and double play to escape the inning with no damage.

Wagner added an insurance run in the top of the ninth on an RBI single up the middle from Ben Ruta, and Nick Pavia closed it out for his third save of the season as the Seahawks grabbed the 2-0 victory.

Hostetter led the Mount offense with a 3-for-4 day, while Ryan Owens, Tyler Post and Vaughn Parker picked up the team's other hits in the contest.

The Mountaineers head to Towson for a matchup on Wednesday, March 30 at 3:30 p.m.
